Church of the Exaltation of the Cross and St. Stanisław, Bishop and Martyr – Hajnówka

Construction of the present church was finished in 1965. In side apses two wooden alters from the former church were placed. The alters were designed by a parishman Franciszek Połoz and made by local carpenters in 1944.

In 1975 high quality pipe organs were bought which came from a ruined Evangelical Church of the Augsburg Confession from Jedlin Zdrój. The instrument was made at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries in the atelier of the distinguished Schlag und Soehne manufacture. It is the only instrument of this kind in north-eastern Poland.

In 2005 – 2008 the walls and the ceiling of the church were covered with polychromy by the artist Jerzy Pasternak from Cracow. Paintings depict biblical and historical scenes.

Since 2007 Festival of Organ and Chamber Music has been organized in the church. July and August are the months when international concerts of both organ and chamber music may be enjoyed within the church walls.
